About the Author
Randy Bean is a Founder, CEO, industry thought leader, author, speaker, and Innovation Fellow in the field of data and AI-driven business leadership. He is the author of the bestselling Fail Fast, Learn Faster: Lessons in Data-Driven Leadership in an Age of Disruption, Big Data, and AI, a current contributor to Forbes, Harvard Business Review, and MIT Sloan Management Review, senior industry advisor, and sought-after speaker and data and AI event moderator.
He was previously founder and CEO of NewVantage Partners, a data, analytics, and AI advisory firm to Fortune 1000 clients from 2001 until its acquisition by Paris-based global consultancy Wavestone in 2021, where he served as Innovation Fellow.
Bean had previously been a founding executive with 2 venture backed startup firms which were funded by Kleiner Perkins and North Bridge Venture Partners, a senior vice president and business head with Harte-Hanks, a global database marketing leader, and began his career in IT and strategic planning for Bank of Boston, which was acquired by Bank of America.
In addition to being a best-selling business author, Bean is a globally recognized leader and noted speaker on the topic of data and AI-driven business leadership. He has addressed leadership audiences on 5 continents on this topic. He has organized and moderated the Chief Data Officer keynote panel for the MIT Chief Data Officer Symposium for the past 9 years and serves on their advisory board. Bean also serves on the editorial advisory board and is a contributor to CDO Magazine and organizes and moderates Chief Data Officer keynote panels for Corinium Intelligence, Evanta, and CDO Club.
Bean is an experienced Senior Advisor and board member. He currently serves on the National Council Board for the College of Arts and Sciences at Washington University in St. Louis and serves as a Senior Advisor on several industry advisory boards. Bean was previously board member, board chair, and president with the James Merrill House and James Merrill Foundation, which hosts an internationally acclaimed writers-in-residency program. He was also an advisor with Year Up and Data Kind, as well as local community organizations.
Bean is a graduate of Washington University in St. Louis, where he continues his Arts & Sciences National Council Board involvement. He previously served on the National Council Board for University Libraries. Bean resides in Boston, MA and Stonington Borough, CT.
